The Independent Transport Commission is committed to providing insight and analysis of the major current issues facing the sector. Our mission is to explore the long-term consequences of current land use and transport policy, consider new approaches and make recommendations on the way forward.

We pride ourselves on our independence and the strength this gives to our research. Our Membership is non-aligned, and represents a wide range of perspectives.

The Commission's charitable objectives are:

  1. To research the economic, social and environmental aspects of travel, transport and land use policy in the United Kingdom.

  2. To advance public education in matters relating to transport and land use, and to make recommendations on possible solutions to current problems.

  3. To broadcast these findings by reports, articles and all other practical means.
